Want to know the Sauerkraut Secret?
I don’t know about you, but for me sauerkraut is one of those foods that never sounds appetising; and I have eaten sauerkrauts that, let’s face it, were NOT appetising.
But that all changed a few years ago when I met the founder of Hurly Burly Foods and tried their “raw slaws”. THIS was a sauerkraut I could get behind.
I helped him understand the nutrition and health benefits of not only cabbage but also fermented foods and he made it taste amazing. From then on, I looked at fermented foods and drinks in a whole new light.
How to actually make it.
But I am still yet to actually make sauerkraut myself so I have asked a friend and colleague, Claudia Olivier, to show me how to do it. Claudia is a natural chef specialising in fermented food and a nutritional therapist. She has done a quick and simple “how to” video which you can watch here:
While I buy it and eat it, I have always shied away from making it as I thought it would be complicated. This video has changed that. Claudia has inspired me to give it a whirl and I would love you to join me this week.
