Testimonial : Food for Thought Programme

“I actually enjoy grocery shopping now!” Is this something you hear yourself say?
At the end of my Food for Thought programme, I ask the participants some reflection questions on what they have taken from the programme. I love the nuggets of insight that these reveal. When I asked Jill, who joined the last programme, what she had learnt from the programme she replied:
“I am no longer anxious in the grocery store because I know how and what to shop for. So I am enjoying choosing a wide variety of organic produce rather than a few staples….
“I finally feel like I really know what I am doing with food but also how my entire body functions around it. I have made very noticeable dietary and lifestyle changes.
“It has simplified something that has created a lot of noise (self-talk) inside me for a long time. I am eating better”

Reading that, made me very happy.
I started out in nutrition in 2004. It was a time before the social media explosion. The challenge was to find information about nutrition and diet. Fast-forward 17 years and most clients I speak to are overwhelmed with information. The challenge now is to make sense of it all and to put all of that information into individual context.
Why I created the Food for Thought programme
I want to bring the concepts of personalised nutrition, lifestyle medicine into a group-based format that would teach people how to future proof their body and brain.
Some people, when considering joining the Food for Thought programme have said variations of:
“I know quite a lot about nutrition already. I am not sure I will learn anything new…”
1. Maybe what you know about nutrition and diet needs re-arranging or updating?
2. Could there be a hidden block to your wellness goals?
Reframing your thoughts about a belief that is holding you back can make all the difference.
How would you respond to these questions I pose when I hear the above belief? I would love to hear from you.
